So………… you want to know a little bit about me then?
Well,
I started this blog / site as a catch all place where I could talk about all things related to ICT in education but generally from a tech perspective – in other words the kit that’s used to prepare and deliver lessons (and the really techie bits that keep the network running).
I currently work at Thornleigh Salesian College which is a successful state school in Bolton, England where I provide ICT Teaching & Learning support throughout the college with a focus on working with Year 7 students.
My areas of interest are the use of emerging technologies in secondary education, social networking / peer learning, m-learning and ICT management in secondary education.
Outside of education I’m also interested in User Interaction, Information Architecture, Web Development, Digital Philosophy and, my latest interest, social learning.
I’m also passionate about ICT innovation – to put it simply I want to make ICT exciting in my school!
At any one time I’ve multiple projects on the go including anything from creating ed-tech web apps to creating geeky playthings like LED motion trackers.
Finally, I’m an ardent Arsenal fan, a player and collector of guitars (21 in the collection), a very useful snooker player, a huge fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan and a general all round bon vivant!
